NEW RULE!
(It's not just a Bill Maher thing!)
And "Anonymous," find out who he is before you say something ELSE stupid?
NO MORE COMMENTING FROM PEOPLE WHO WON'T IDENTIFY THEMSELVES. Whether this is coming from Jason, or Brian, or whomever, please tell me who's reading this? THANK YOU.

M. This is J. here. The irony is I have not been leaving ANY of the "Anonymous" comments here at all lately. But I have been reading the B-log from time to time and TOTALLY AGREE with what your new "Anonymous" fans have had to say on SO many levels.
And I do agree things should get back to sex. I mean while you did so little of it for me while crashing at my place last year, you've tried to make amends with all the great sex stories here. Who even knows how much of it is true? But I digress.
Bottom line is I'm not your current Anonymous stalker but I still don't appreciate seeing my name up in lights. And you had another poster who said you need to respect privacy. The fact you don't respect peoples' privacy hasn't changed.
Who knows how long you will hold this job for before dropping to your knees and doing the one thing that gets you attention? I'm not complaining; after all, I was a client right?
So, all things being equal, WHEN, not if, but WHEN, things don't work out for you in "the beachy place" -- also known as California for those not in the know -- you know you can always earn some cash at my place, right honey?

Is that supposed to be a joke? I think it is great that M. has a job that doesn't involve "dropping to [her] knees and doing the one thing that gets [her] attention." If it isn't you should be ashamed for saying such things even if you are angry that she isn't respecting your anonymity.
I haven't seen anything that really gives anyone away on this website so I don't know why people are so obsessed with the maintenance of their 'anonymity'. Even if your name and living location were revealed nearly all of the names have been referenced as first name only (with exception of the ex) and how many mikes, daves, and johns (purposefully not names that I directly recollect being posted on the site) live in any given town, no less a big city.
That being said, I'm very happy to hear that you have a job M. I really hope it provides you with the stability it sounds like you're currently needing while you go about sorting out your life.
Keep us random people posted, were rooting for you out here in the digital sea. If you like, send me pics of your "sub-par art" I've been looking for inexpensive stuff to hang on my walls. (My email is in place of the "webpage," as I don't have the time/skills needed to develop/maintain a webpage)

Generally speaking, those who leave anonymous comments are cowards and, if I were you dear M., I would consider deleting them. If one hasn't enough backbone to put their name behind their words, they would do better to keep their mouth shut.

There are many reasons why one wishes to remain anonymous on the net. Those of us with "real" jobs out there in the real world who read blogs on their breaks or during the day when things are slow would rather their names not be attached to such things. There are many people getting fired out there for reading/writing blogs during the day. Furthermore, when Meredith decided to put her personal life out there for all to read, the she must accept the fact that people -- sometimes Anonymous people -- will read and comment on her personal thoughts that she is choosing to share with the world. What I think would be most cowardly would be to delete the Anonymous comments as that is a risk that you must acknowledge and take when you choose to share your life with the world on the Internet.

Oh shut the fuck up you anonymous pussies. And "J" - former client - I hope you get green mold on your cock and it falls off.
Yay for Meredith!
11:21 AM
Thanks, Iris, once again for astounding us with your intelligience. (Although what can be expected from someone who gets joy out of growing mold in their dirty kitchen).
11:58 AM
Agreed about Iris -- I'd be astounded if she actually wrote something intelligient for once. While I don't necessarily agree with all of the Anonymous poster's opinions, it is childish to swear and cuss and rant with no sort of intelligient opinion.

So...new rule here...you can't question the intelligence of someone if you can't spell 'intelligient' (it's spelled intelligent).
4:29 PM
Too many rules! Can't post a comment if you're anonymous, can't post if you do not know how to spell, shouldn't post if you swear...
C'mon! Everyone, including the lovely Meredith, needs to relax and lighten up a bit. All of these (anonymous postings, typos, criticisms, back patting, etc.) are just one of the joys of being a blogger, isn't it?
And, while I have a blogger account, I shall post anonymously just cause I know it'll really bug one of ya'll...

I wasn't actually referring to M's new rule, I was generally responding to "J" and his rude comment as well as previous anonymous posters who were lambasting M for having their first name posted in her blog.
However, when it comes to commenters, anonymous or not is really rather silly to concentrate on. After all, how hard is it to make up a name? Perhaps my name is Bryce today, but maybe I'll be commenting under Garrison's or Darling Maggot's names tomorrow (not that I'd do that though).
Personally, I think that even if your going to post anonymously then just make up a name that you use consistently so we readers can follow the point you are trying to make between each of your posts.

I usually just lurk, but decided to speak up to give bryce an enormous rou nd of applause.
THANK YOU, bryce, for eloquently clarifying that what both M. and many of the readers of this blog want is for those who comment to chose and use a consistent handle when posting comments.
So to all those using "anonymous" as your "name": if you don't want to sign the name people call you by when you're off-line to the comments you leave here, fine. But if you select "anonymous" because you aren't clever enough, or self-confident enough, to make up a name for use in this realm, you probably shouldn't be surfing the Net without the supervision of someone who is.
Because I believe in setting examples, I will select a moniker to assign to myself even though I probably will not post here again.
In fact, I may not even be back after today. Like darling maggot, I found this site to be a much better read when M. wrote of her self-destructiveness and hypersexuality. It wasn't just the fascination with watching a train wreck in progress - this blog stood our because M. admitted that she bore responsibility for most of the "adventures" chronicled in her blog, including the divorce. These recent self-righteous posts and hilarious demands of the readers are anything but out of the ordinary; blogs by the "it wasn't my fault, nothing is ever my fault" crowd are, unfortunately, all too common.
As for M., Garrison Steele, and the others who are appalled that anyone would leave a negative comment about M.: if you don't want a response to what you write, either turn off the comment function or refrain from posting. Playing the victim by whining that what was said to you is mean, or calling those who don't sign their posts with some name "cowards who should keep their mouths shut", is laughable, delusional, and/or incredibly naive.
With that said, I return to the shadows.
